There's something for everybody that comes out to see our show. Most of our listeners are from the (25-65 year) age group. The Meteors are one of a very few Chicago area oldies cover bands in which all (5) members of the band sing lead, and play instruments. It's quite common to hear three or four part vocal harmonies in our music, and our authentic reproductions,(rated by many as the best in the Chicago area) and the solid drive of our music, is sure to keep your ears listening, and your feet moving all night long. The Meteors pay tribute to over 80 different artists and groups from the United States and Britain, playing only the best hits from the 50's and 60's. Our musical magic (spanning over 20 years) - is sure to bring back many great memories. Played with the same authenticity as the original artists, we always make sure the sound is right for your event. BAND HISTORY
The Meteors (Rock & Roll Oldies Show) consists of (5) members: Ron Miller - Oak Forest, Il. ( Keyboards, Percussion, Vocals, and Band Representative) , Tony Bicek - Stickney, Il. ( Drums, and Vocals) , Tom Rychter- Batavia, Il ( Rhythm Guitar, and Vocals) , Sal Salvato - Berwyn, Il (Lead Guitar, and Vocals) , and Randy Zaccard - Wonder Lake, Il (Bass Guitar, and Vocals).
The Meteors are a spin-off of the very successful and legendary Tribute band "Johnny Star & the Meteors" . Ron and Tony, former members of Johnny Star & the Meteors decided to continue the Meteors after John Reincke left to join "Jay and the Americans". They recruited Tom, (from another popular local band The Heartbeats) and later added Sal, and Randy, and resurfaced as The Meteors in February 2007.
Since 2007 the Meteors have been entertaining at Festivals, Park Concerts, Corporate Events, Private Functions, Country clubs, Restaurants and local Clubs, all over the Chicagoland area rekindling that same magic as they were known for in the past.
Our very reasonable playing fees are determined by the particulars of the event (Date, Location, Playing Times, Sound Requirements, Etc.)
